I realise these pictures were taken in a public place, but, nonetheless, the people being photographed didn't agree to having their photos broadcast to the whole world via the internet for sexual titilation.

I see your point. But if we were to delete every photo where the subject didn't sign a model release giving explicit consent to post them, then the entire group of threads about celebrities, video captures, and Indian feet would disappear.

It's possible to sexualize anyone or any thing (look up "Rule 34" at urbandictionary.com) at any time, for any reason. We'd have to not allow any photos to guarantee that someone isn't whacking off to those pics.

I promise you, if the subject of any photos posted here logs a complaint with FootBuddies, we will immediately delete those photos.

I think one important difference between the "candid beach pics" and the other threads you mention (celebrities, video captures, and Indian feet) is that the people in the threads you mention KNEW that a photograph was being taken and would be aware of the possibility of their images being broadcast and presented in all sorts of circumstances they had not originally intended. Furthermore, by and large, these people are professional and get paid for posing/acting etc.

However, the subjects being photographed in the candid shots are not even aware that a photograph of any sort has been taken - receive no compensation or payment - and have not agreed to their image being shown over the internet in a sexualised forum. I think there is a real issue of an invasion of privacy here.

It wouldn't surprise me in the least to find that one day the candid photographer is either arrested or beaten up. I would certainly urge young fetishists on this forum not to follow his example.

It's not illegal to take pictures in a public place even without participants permissions if they happen to be in the shot, too bad. There is a grey area around possible privacy issues, i.e. even though public restrooms may be "public" you wouldn't be allowed to take pictures of people doing their private business in the washroom (although security cameras and firms certainly do!).

Bare feet are generally not considered nudity or inherently sexual by the populace at large, so they don't even remotely come close to "up-skirt" photography.

We "get it" nervous nellies, but it's highly unlikely pics of people's bare feet would stand up in court lol.

Oh, and Randy takes some of the most amazing hottest public foot photos ever! Thanks so much for these forrays, I for one really appreciate all the hot manly feet you capture. Huzzah! :D

It is sort of a grey area, but you have to remember that most people don't sexualize the foot. People place their bare soles out in public all the time, especially in summer, oblivious to the small segment of the population they're arousing.

I've been totally guilty of stalking a few guys I've seen in public with hot feet, and even snapping a stealth photo or two. I don't go to the extremes that Rodney does, but I think we're all a little guilty of taking advantage of peoples' foot exhibitionism.

That said, the thing that bothers me about photos like this is that because of the extreme zoom lens that is used, the feet wind up looking disproportionately small to the rest of the body. That's kind of a turnoff to me. It happens in a lot of candid celebrity photos, too because the paparazzi are hiding far away behind bushes. :)

Blah bla blah, keep taking the photos (feet /beach) how many years has this site been running & people are going to start getting nick picky and complaining all the time now?about someones foot none the less.
It wont be long until you wont even be able to show feet on here without a sealed approval for every photo.The other day someone posted pictures of justin Bieber who will be 17 in 3 months and although im for protecting children and am for protecting the site from the law (i will follow the rules) he IS a teen age sex symbol and its only his FEET.
I like (probably like most on here) looking at young mens feet (not younger than 16 btw) do i want to have sex with them? No.

The more this debate has gone on the clearer it has become in my own mind that the photos really do breach someone else's privacy. The subjects were not asked whether they were happy to be photographed or placed on this board.

If there was nothing wrong about taking these photos then the photographer would not have to hide the fact that he is taking the photos.

I'm sure there are many visitors to this board who are secretive about their foot fetish. How would they feel if someone were to breach their privacy and "out" them to their family or friends. Privacy is important - to all of us - and I am dismayed that in this case it is being disregarded.

The taking of these photographs is clearly disrespectful to the subjects (the respectful thing being to ask permission to take and display the photos) and I am dismayed that so many people here think that just because the photographer can get away with it that's makes it okay.

There are so many photographs out there that give a good view of a foot or two - photos taken for all sorts of reason - but taken WITH the consent of the subjects. I cannot understand why we need display on this board pictures that are clearly taken without the main subject's consent or even knowledge.

I think I have to agree with John Oz, and I'm very sorry to have to say so. But we are invading the privacy of other people when we snap pictures of their big toes and comely ankles without their permission. And what do we intend to do with them? But if it's wrong, why do we do it? I think it's because most of us are still in the shoebox, even though we may be out, at least to some degree, out of the closet to some family and friends, if not all. That's not necessarily true of all those photos. Ever heard of paparazzi? I doubt any of them announce to the celebrities they are shooting pics. Otherwise, why would so many photos be taken from what appears to be hundreds of feet away (and shot with a 1000 mm telephoto lens)?

If you stole into someone's bedroom and took pictures of them hiding in the hamper from their closet - that's invasion. SuperUgg (JohnOz), you sound very upset and I sense you're feeling hurt and frustrated. I think if I were you, and if you don't mind my handing out unsolicited advice, I would sit down and do nothing for 24 hours. Then I would write a PM (private message) to the moderators and explain all over again exactly why I felt offended. You have ideas we may need to hear, but you have to be very careful not to present them in a confrontational way.

We're a motley crew here and our moderators try to be a bridge over troubled waters. Many of us wear masks, we conceal our identifies, and jump back and forth between the REAL world and our safe haven here, a parallel universe for us here where we can express our throughts about footlove.

The moderators have the thankless task of sorting out tons of spam, trying to let us know basic house rules, and they make a superhuman effort to be sensitive to our needs. Yes, a superhuman effort. But remember, they are human. They have lives. And after hours and hours of behind-the-scenes work, they do have their own lives in the real world. Those of us here who have known them for years have an enormous sense of gratitude to them for doing the work that helps keep this place running.

You have a sense of style and logic in your writing, so I know you can tell them exactly what is bothering you. They are courteous and professional people - all of us here will vouch for them - and they will get back to you. You don't have to agree with them. They welcome diversity. Nobdody here is trying to convert anybody to any social or political cause.

I've been thinking a lot lately of St Theresa of Calcutta and how she lived. Why does she inspire me? Because she was so sure of her beliefs and knew exactly where she was going? No! Just the opposite! She was loaded with doubts and tormented by uncertainties. But she lived the good life anyway and with all the second thoughts she had about everything, she devoted her life to helping others.

How can we help our community here? How can we support our moderators? It isn't just a question of proving I am right and someone else isn't. How can we help all of us live a more abundant life in a world that isn't really easy for anybody?

JohnOz was given a temporary ban for acting disrespectfully towards the membership. He chose to go around the ban and create a new screen name, where he chose to be disrespectful, once again.

If he chooses to continue this childish activity, I will have the owner of the site ban his IP address from this board forever. There is normally a zero-tolerance policy for his type of behavior, which I am choosing to take leniency upon.

I was chosen as moderator by the site owner to keep the law and order, and to wield editorial power when and where necessary.

But I haven't spent the last four and a half years of my life reading every single post, examining every photo, verifying every new membership, and fighting armies of spammers, just to have someone talk trash about me in front of fifteen hundred people. I am fair; I am thorough, and I have had no complaints until this week... and no justified complaints, ever.

I work too hard here, where the only reward is knowing I have helped keep open what is really the only outlet most of us have for our interest in feet. I will not tolerate anyone trying to stand in my way of that.
