Just caught parts of the holiday movie, "Karroll's Christmas" on Hallmark. (Yet another re-telling of 'A Christmas Carol') Tom Everett Scott has a soles-to-the-camera scene laying on his bed. First you see only one foot, but when his wife/girlfriend comes in you see both feet. Not bad. FYI...

The production of "Don Giovanni"' first mentioned by Gianni9UK and commented on above by SnowFanatic is truly amazing. The opera itself is a classic and years ago Life magazine ran a whole issue on it as one of the supreme works of Western Civilization. But this is surely the barefooted-est production of Mozart's masterpiece ever staged.

The director and set designer is Pier Luigi Pizzi, one of Italy's greatest. YouTube has quite a few clips of this production and interviews with Pizzi and with cast members. Don Giovanni's servant Leporello is barefoot throughout the entire performance, as are also Masetto (Zerlina's beau) and others. I don't know when I've seen so many lovely bare feet in an opera. If you go to YouTube, you can punch in Ildebrando D''Arcangelo (Don Giovanni), or Andrea Concetti (Leporello) and you'll see a number of scenes with Giovanni and Leporello on top of the bed, squeezing each other's feet with great intimacy and familiarity. I don't know how homoerotic it's intended to be, but it's very sensual to watch. The interviews are mostly in Italian.

If this comes out on DVD, I'll snap up a copy immediately. Thanks again to Gianni of UK for alerting us and to Footlover28 for bringing us the stills.
