The photo is probably from the Lookingglass Theater in Chicago. He's one of the founders and has been quite involved with it since Friends ended.

It's from a movie called 'Picking up the Pieces' by/starring Woody Allen. Schwimmer plays a priest in a town where a prostitutes severed hand performs miracles.
It's a brief barefoot scene (few seconds at most), but a good one.
