I haven't posted a CL ad in a long time, and when I tried tonight I have been asked for a phone verification? I hate the idea of giving CL my phone number - is this a new requirement?

Just posted an ad on craig's list and they just wanted an e-mail address. Do not give anyone your details online or I'll have to smack you my man. Be careful.

It is illegal to ask that sort of information in our country. Thank God for the CRTC. Seriously.

From my understanding, it is CL's way of cracking down on spammers. If you post an ad that has the same content or the same word used over and over again, you're flagged and then the phone verification thing comes in. They "ghost" you in their endless crusade against spammers. Irritating for non-spammers.

No, I am not giving CL or anyone my personal information. I've never been that naive. Thanks for caring, though.
