View Full Version : How "safe" is it licking feet and having them rub you?

Hi guys...first off, apologies if this topic seems repetitious, I know I've seen it here before in the past:
I might have some feet-play opportunities coming up in the near future, but I'm a major germophobe (how ironic is it then that I lust for men's feet of all things?)
So, how safe is it licking the bottoms of guys' feet if they're unwashed? Unwashed as in if he takes off his shoes and socks and walks around home barefoot on his floors. What if there's any "harmful bacteria"?
I once heard on a news story that there's like hundreds of thousands of different bacteria found on the bottom of your shoes alone---that was a real jolt! lol
Then again, I saw some "naturalist" guy on a talk show say that some "dirty" bacteria is good for the body, such as picking up food off the floor and eating it. He said that won't hurt you, it might actually help you, because it keeps your body from getting too "sterilized" and weaker to harmful stuff. So he encourages that. And the bottoms of guys' bare feet definitely touch floors, heehee.
So, which is the better route of thought??
The last time I licked and sucked on a guy's bare feet was YEARS ago, but as hot as it was, the next day I saw a few tiiiiny tiny reddish bumps on my tongue and I was kinda anxious over that, but then they went away--so I thought maybe that was just my mouth's reaction to licking another person's bare feet for the first time (especially if he had been walking around barefoot on his floors---indeed, that was my first time doing anything oral with another person, period!---so I figured that's "chemistry"...after all if you licked a floor there just might be a little reaction on your tongue, for the next day or two lol).
So now I wonder if using any mouthwash afterward would be any help after orally doing unwashed feet?
And the same questions for chewing/sucking on dirty really sweat-stained "nasty" socks.
And along those same lines, how safe is it for guys to rub their "dirty" bare feet on your body and especially your dick? I mean I don't want any athlete's fungus anywhere on my body, much less near my crotch! lol So I don't know if their "naturally-dirty" feet would get any bacteria or anything on your body and dick you'd really not want on you, or if it's not that big a deal *unless* there was fungus.
I get REALLY turned on by the thought of licking "dirty feet" and my body and dick being rubbed with them (not filthy, just "naturally dirty" like the average guy's bare feet from walking around his home barefoot, etc.).
So just not sure if I should indulge in this, or just keep that "fantasy" for my hormones and always wash the guy's feet first before I touch them or they touch me.

What do you guys think about this? I saw it posted at "AnswerBag.com", where anyone can ask any question:
"Do you have a foot fetish?
My girlfriend knew a guy in Paris. He was known for sucking on women's toes. He would enthusiastically draw air in over them.
One day he was sick and she went to see him in the hospital. The air in the room was thick with a fungal odor. He had a fungal infection in his lungs.
His family was wealthy. They even had a specialist flown in from Japan.
Nobody could figure out how to kill the fungus without killing him.
He died.
So, don't draw air rapidly over feet and into your lungs."
http://www.answerbag.com/q_view/2649997
Do you think there's any truth to that, or just some guy trying to get attention of foot fetishists?
I tried to find something about this story in Google using keywords, but so far nothing.

Kind of sounds like one of those urban myths ... "I knew a guy who sucked toes. And then he died."

In general, I'd say eating feet is one of the safest activities you can get into sexually. So long as the general hygiene of your mate is alright.... you'll be fine.
This topic has come up before. Lots of flame being thrown around. And yes, I was as guilty as any throwing flames. :-)
Since that time, I've had some fun feet experiences and 2 bad ones. The two bad ones have left me a bit more careful than I was. In the first case, it was a friend who has 3 dogs with full run of the house and a closed in yard. They poop in the yard. And track back into the house. -I didn't eat his feet because of it. Just foot rubs. But still, even with much washing afterward, I got something that took me down big time.
The other time, another bad one.... a friend who had a tiny cut between his inner toe that was tender. It was smaller than small. While his feet were big and gorgeous. I licked them anyway and got a throat infection from it. I was not happy with myself in either case.
But then, I have also eaten cheesy, smelly feet and come away like the delicate flower that I am. Those 2 cases were exceptional cases. If the guy you're with has pets.... Eat his feet AFTER some foot washing. And I would not recommend eating feet with an open sore. Duh.
Other than that, I say just have fun. For the vast majority of things involving feet, your body can well handle whatever it comes across. And your immune system DOES need contact with these general pests. An immune system that is unchallenged will create problems of its own: Develop allergies. Even attack YOU.
In general though, most guys INTO feet take care of their feet. And guys who aren't into feet, ignore them. So if you must play, it is best to play with someone into feet. You're far more likely to have well groomed, pampered pups to play with.
As for rubbing you..... -!!! Your skin is a miraculous invention. It is a marvelous barrier to the critters you'd run into in our society.
Don't live in fear. A little caution is fine. But live.

Thank you J.R., for your response, I appreciate the "feet"back :-)
I'm sorry to hear about those two bad experiences, yikes...
...And track back into the house. -I didn't eat his feet because of it. Just foot rubs. But still, even with much washing afterward, I got something that took me down big time.
Do you mind if I ask what that was? And yeah, I thought the other day that I probably wouldn't lick the bare feet of a pet-owner, unless I at least washed them VERY thoroughly with soap and hot water.
Other than that, I say just have fun. For the vast majority of things involving feet, your body can well handle whatever it comes across. And your immune system DOES need contact with these general pests. An immune system that is unchallenged will create problems of its own: Develop allergies. Even attack YOU.
Yeah, that's one of those parts that helps encourage me, lol.
In general though, most guys INTO feet take care of their feet. And guys who aren't into feet, ignore them. So if you must play, it is best to play with someone into feet. You're far more likely to have well groomed, pampered pups to play with.
And ya know what, I'm starting to appreciate that. I've always lusted for great big, sweaty, "stinky" feet of masculine men, but practically, for oral worshiping and licking and toe-sucking purposes, I will definitely open myself up more to "clean, pampered, very clean" feet!
As for rubbing you..... -!!! Your skin is a miraculous invention. It is a marvelous barrier to the critters you'd run into in our society.
That sounds great...I was just wondering mostly for things like Athlete's Foot, if the guy's big feet wipe your face and groin and feet (even if you've just washed them). Or if anything else "transferrable" may be on 'em...but maybe not much of a chance if they're washed clean first?
Been chatting with a couple with prone-to-sweat-and-odor feet I could possibly have some feet fun with, and when I asked how often they've had Athlete's F., the answer was "not that often...we prefer to have clean, fresh feet". Hmmmm...that kinda made me wanna be cautious...I assume rubbing them would be just fine, but not so sure about orally doing their bare feet, even if they haven't had A.F. in a long time (I've heard the fungus can live up to 6 months on clothes and floors, etc.)
Don't live in fear. A little caution is fine. But live.
I know, I'm trying, I'm trying, *sigh*...it's not easy when you're kinda germaphobic but you lust for the bare feet of men!
Again J.R., thank you so for responding, it is much appreciated!

If you want an opinion more, here it goes...
I agree with John, it must be one of the safest activities to do in sex.
If you think carefully, any part of the body can be dirty or with something in the skin. Feet are not "riskier" than other parts, since any part of the body can be dirty, or have a kind of skin illness, or whatever.
But when you do a blowjob, for example, an extremely common practice, you have way more chances to get a disease. And there are many.
My only advice is that you see that the feet of the guy are not very dirty or appear to have much fungus or some cut or any kind of injury. But again, that's thinking too much. It's not likely at all to have some serious problem for doing anything with feet.
I've licked a lot and nothing never happened to me. :)

No prob, OdorEater,
I like feet. I like eating feet. I like talking about feet.
Don't be so fearful of eating the feet of a pet owner. What made my particular set of circumstances unusual was how unsanitary the guy was about his house, not so much having pets. Lots of pet owners keep a pretty clean environment and don't let their pets 'go' in a way that tracks dirt and whatever where they walk. This guy did. And not a little dirt, but a LOT of it, thanks to a heavy rain. I've been at his feet a number of times without incident.
There's an issue of how strong your immune system is to general bacteria, etc. I am very susceptible to throat infections. Which is really frustrating because I like to rim as much as I like eating feet. You have to consider just how many guys post here eating feet and no one complains to the board about getting sick. I could be wrong but I imagine luck guys like the handsome, adorable and lovely PeterLondon has eaten more feet in a year than you and I will eat in a lifetime. And all types of feet. Sweaty. Cheesy. Stinky feet. And he's doing just fine.
If mouthwash makes you feel better, go for it. I imagine it would be more for the placebo effect than anything. If you are going to have an infection, it is most likely not going to be in your mouth. (Bumps on tongue that you mentioned.) The type of germs and fungus that harbor around feet are there because it's just the right kind of environment. It's dark. It's dry. -Your mouth would be a very unpleasant place to try and colonize. What with saliva and all. -If you're prone to infection it will be in BACK of your throat, where the lining is thinner, with skin folds to insulate germs. Using mouthwash has a plus/minus effect in all this. It may kill bacteria that could hurt you. And it can also sterilize an area. Your mouth also has healthy bacteria in it that makes anything 'bad' compete for territory. If you strip away the weaker, good bacteria -it leaves free ground for bad bacteria to thrive.
If you've eaten feet -or ass- or just have a cold coming on- the best thing you can do is gargle several times during the day with salt water. Washing away colonized bacteria and lowering the threat level in a way that does not strip and sterilize your throat.
As for athlete's foot. Don't worry. You can eat those guys to your heart's content. :-)
They are interested in living in the lining of your skin, not IN your body. Saliva, stomach acid, sunlight.... And even while they like skin, they are looking for safe areas. There's a reason it's called jock itch and not palm itch or arm itch. That fungus is looking for a SAFE harbor. Most of your body isn't that. So you can pig out and let your buddy rub his feet all over you till the crows come home. All germs are not one and the same. Which is why you saw that program suggesting its alright to get a little dirt in your system.
I say you should hook up with a buddy. Have a wild, fun time at his feet. Maybe take some pictures. And then come and tell us all about it.
When you're happy, your immune system is happy. EAT SOME FEET!

Interesting, cordobes...thanks for your input. See, I would naturally assume feet are quite a bit "riskier" than licking other parts of the body, because people walk barefoot so much, many times even right outside the house. This is why I like being able to have discussions and other insights/opinions. :-)
I've licked a lot and nothing never happened to me. :)
That's what I want! lol :-)

Ahhh, okay, J.R....thanks for clarifying. :-) You had me crossing "pet-owners" off my potential feet list, LOL.
You have to consider just how many guys post here eating feet and no one complains to the board about getting sick.
I did consider that, but then I also thought, "Well, what if that's just because no one speaks up? We all wanna talk "hot feet" here, not "post-feet ickiness", lol. But sharing anything and everything is good for everyone.
I could be wrong but I imagine luck guys like the handsome, adorable and lovely PeterLondon has eaten more feet in a year than you and I will eat in a lifetime. And all types of feet. Sweaty. Cheesy. Stinky feet. And he's doing just fine.
Yes, and he even does it world-wide!! I sure hope our PeterLondon has only had wonderfulness with every sole lick and toe suck and "toe-pit" lick-out. It's my wish every feet-guy can be so lucky and healthy!
If mouthwash makes you feel better, go for it. I imagine it would be more for the placebo effect than anything. If you are going to have an infection, it is most likely not going to be in your mouth.
Yeah, I saw some health web site's info on Athlete's Foot said something like you can use mouthwash, but it's not likely to kill the bacteria that are found on feet. It would definitely help my mind feel better though, even if just placebo! lol
The type of germs and fungus that harbor around feet are there because it's just the right kind of environment. It's dark. It's dry. -Your mouth would be a very unpleasant place to try and colonize. What with saliva and all.
Wait a minute---feet germs and fungus like it dark and *wet*, right? A.F. at least...fungus loves darkness and moisture, hence fungus popularity with feet and genitals over the rest of the body. Are you meaning other types of "feet bacteria" as well, that like it dry? (perhaps you mean when walking barefoot?)
Just a little confused with this, sorry.
Wow...this is *very* interesting and informative. I really do appreciate everything you're sharing with me and other readers here, thank you.
If you've eaten feet -or ass- or just have a cold coming on- the best thing you can do is gargle several times during the day with salt water. Washing away colonized bacteria and lowering the threat level in a way that does not strip and sterilize your throat.
Again, very interesting and informative (wouldn't have even thought of that)---thanks yet again. :-)
As for athlete's foot. Don't worry. You can eat those guys to your heart's content. :-)
Really??? That seems so "wrong" to me! LOL Maybe I could, but I definitely don't want to, eek...it'll be a big enough step for me if I lick the bottoms of the feet and toes of a man who has even ever *had* A.F., much less has it! lol
Yet, earlier, you mentioned skin folds in the back of your throat, which germs would like...it seems then like fungus would like that as well, but I've never really heard of A.F. in a guy's throat...is there some stipulation here why fungi wouldn't like that, wouldn't sense it as a "safe" harbor?
I say you should hook up with a buddy. Have a wild, fun time at his feet. Maybe take some pictures. And then come and tell us all about it.
When you're happy, your immune system is happy. EAT SOME FEET!
LOL, thanks...for the encouragement, "cheering", and definitely for all the information you're sharing...from the bottoms of my bare feet, I thank you! ;-) :-)

I am not a doctor and I don't want to pretend I have the answers to what kind of infections and illness can be transmitted from feet.. but I do want to comment on a few things.
From what I've read about the immune system and germs, it definitely seems to work best by putting it to the test.. and exposing it to things that it can react and adapt to. But that means you likely have to first suffer thru some sore throats, sinus infections, etc. to reap the benefits in the future. If you keep very clean it might be kind of jarring to lick the dirty feet of a guy who has been walking barefoot all over the place but not dangerous. I don't know that pet feces falls into that same category but if you're in the house of someone who has pets and is THAT dirty, you'll leave because of the smell before anything else! haha
As far as Athlete's Foot goes, I do know that the same fungus transfers easily to the crotch as Jock Itch. In fact the most popular way of getting Jock Itch is from having Athlete's Foot and stepping into your underwear as you put them on, transferring the fungus via the cloth. So if you are playing with a guy who has Athlete's Foot and his feet are rubbing in your crotch, it is clearly in the realm of possibility that it could transfer to you as Jock Itch. Foot fungus needs the right environment to thrive, and it's not suited to live in your mouth. So technically it's probably safe to suck on his toes even if he has an active case of it... but I have to say it sounds like an aesthetically bad experience depending on how advanced it is. Eww.
I don't see how mouthwash would be a bad thing against germs in general especially if it has alcohol or some other antiseptic. That's pretty much what it's for. But don't rely on it as a cure-all.
Nothing and no one is perfect. If you use good common sense you shouldn't be afraid to engage in the kind of footplay that gets you off. :-)

Thanks, dj.
Some guy (not here) told me this:
"It isn't totally safe, sadly. Best to lick clean feet. Worse tho is if they walk around barefoot n a house with pets you do risk hepatitis. To the licker beware."
Any thoughts on that? It sure doesn't sound nice...is that a risk only if they have pets in the house?
And what about if you wash the feet with soap and hot water, would that kill the hep?

Well, I'm not a doctor and I don't want to pretend playing one on this board. Just sharing a bit of my life experience and what I've gleaned from it.
As for mouthwash, it can very much so cause problems. Big problems. I learned that the hard way trying to medically treat myself. As I mentioned, (not something I've ever mentioned on a public forum), I have a tendency to get throat infections. It's like strep throat, but not strep. If you go in complaining of a throat infection, the first thing they will assume is step and they'll test you for it. After that, the likely candidate is rectal bacteria.
As much as I like the idea of eating a guy's ass, I very easily get a throat infection from it.
It can last up to 30 days. Be physically very draining. Bouts of nausea. Not fun.
Weak antibiotics aren't strong enough to handle rectal bacteria. Some Docs were savvy and 'knew' what my problem was and went to the stronger stuff. Others, following the general protocol of keeping as much of the good stuff away from the public since antibiotics are far too over used and becoming ineffective.
So silly me decided since I could not get the strong stuff, I'd treat myself with mouthwash.
And used enough of it to sterilize my throat, leaving it as an open oasis for oral thrush to set in. Something that does not much happen to healthy individuals. Bad news. -Worst week of my life. Self inflicted.
I learned my lesson. If you want to treat your throat, use salt water -or a bit of hydrogen peroxide in water- as a gargle. That's it. Leave the mouthwash to keeping your breathe sweet and minty.Just with the use of a proper gargle, you can cut down on the length and severity of a throat infection. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat.
Weakling that I am, I gave up rimming as my favorite hobby and switched to feet. Nice, lovely tasty men feet. LOVE IT. LOVE IT. LOVE IT. -Never had a problem other than the 2 incidents I mentioned. So by avoiding the specifics of those 2 events, I've not had a problem since.
-And Djdevilct is definitely onto something when he says it eating dirty feet can be 'jarring' to your system. In fact, I went a very long stretch of my twenties without any physical contact what so ever with other guys. And the first time I got an infection, it was SO strong. Mentioning this to the Doc at the gay clinic (God bless gay health providers!) the doc remarked that part of my problem was likely the fact that my immune system was such virgin territory. You don't want to go through life protecting yourself from common bug contact. It may seem contrary, but having your body fight off bacteria helps keep your immune system strong. The only contradiction of this is: so long as the bacteria is of the type that the immune system can win. And without help. Trust me OdorEater, if you go through life successfully isolating yourself from any germ contact, you are putting yourself in as much risk -or more- than you would be by eating feet.
For the most part, the contact you will have with feet are the sort that your immune system will beat like a cheap rented suit. So get out there and save your immune system.
Eat feet 7 days a week and call me in the morning.

John, I'm not sure if you saw my post before your latest one, but here's the gist:
Some guy (not here) told me this:
"It isn't totally safe, sadly. Best to lick clean feet. Worse tho is if they walk around barefoot n a house with pets you do risk hepatitis. To the licker beware."
Any thoughts on that? It sure doesn't sound nice...is that a risk only if they have pets in the house? And why?
I got a 3-series vaccination for hep. in college, I think that was for B?
And what about if you wash dirty "carrier" feet with soap and hot water, would that kill the hep?
And would there be any risk for that if a man rubbed his bare feet all over your body, especially all over your dick and balls? (again, would washing the feet first prevent anything there?)

OdorEater, the type of medical information you're asking about is too important to consult a message board of anonymous strangers. If you are uncomfortable talking with a doctor about transmission of diseases from dirty feet, including animal feces, I suggest you google it online and look for reputable medical sources with information given by professionals.. not those opinion-based "medical" sites where regular people give their uneducated personal experiences. The info is easy to find with some simple research skills. Good luck!

I agree, OdorEater should do some research through reputable medical websites. Consulting with a doctor would be a reasonably good thing as well. Staying healthy is an interactive process. Good diet. Reduce stress. Exercise. All that good stuff.
At the same time, I think his request here is reasonable. Questions regarding licking feet are not standard issues for the majority of the population. Most people aren't licking feet if they're licking anything. And if so, only in passing. And even more rare to lick a foot that is either cheesy, or even less likely, dirty. It's just not happening. So it is neither on their radar or the radar of most health professionals. They have more pressing issues to occupy their time.
I just Googled "Licking Feet Heath Risk" and of the first 7 pages there was practically NOTHING relevant to OdorEater's questions. And nothing that contradicted my relatively uninformed comments. The closest relevant comment in that cursory Google search, Dan Savage reply to the above question. And he did consult a Doctor before giving his reply:
"According to my pal Nance's very cute doctah-boyfriend, Dr. Barak Gaster--whose first name means "lightening, shining, gleaming" in Hebrew--the fungus responsible for athlete's foot can't grow in your mouth. Of course, not all funky feet are suffering from athlete's foot, but I wanted the doc to address a worst-case scenario. "They [the fungi] like it cool, they don't like it hot--and it's hot in your mouth and cool near your feet, at least comparatively. There are minimal, if any, health risks from licking dirty feet." For "dirty feet" please read: sweaty, sock-skanky feet. Don't go licking and sucking the toes of someone who's been padding around barefoot in a sex club, or mucking out horse stalls without wearing boots. Go for funky, avoid filth."
And on my comments, the comment I made about the Immune system needing contact with germs, that came from a Doctor at Howard Brown.
My comment about what is appropriate to gargle with -and the consequences of what I did instead- came from a eye, nose and throat specialist I was referred to by my Doctor.
My guess is, in terms of a body of information linking foot licking to illness, there isn't going to be a huge body of information. Partly, because there aren't a lot of health risks directly connected to licking feet. If there were and it were a dangerous practice, the body of evidence would be readily available. And what risk there is, the type of germs that would cause bodily harm, those are the same as caused from a multitude of activities beyond foot licking. So the same general caution you'd have there just carries over.
There's not likely to be anything 'new' under the sun other than what foot lickers here can describe. You're welcome to use the Google and prove me wrong.
I'm always open to new information.
JohnRice

I am also reminded of a humorous comment an HIV tester said to me, "Your health risks don't kick in until the moment you say to yourself, "....He's HOT."
One would assume that being lucky enough to get some feet generally means there's going to be some huggin' and a kissin'. Maybe some dick lickn'. Ass play. Fuckin' and a suckn'. Of all that, the risk of 'germs' is way, way, way, way higher from the huggn' n kissn' stuff vs. the foot lickn'.
Just sayin'.

Exactly. Thanks for understanding that, John (I'm not saying you wouldn't, DJ, it's just that John has spelled out my reasoning for asking here). I have done some searches, but yes, it's like finding a needle in a haystack to get concrete answers to some of these questions! It'd be nice if there were a 1-800 # to a gay doctor for any questions you had.
"They [the fungi] like it cool, they don't like it hot--and it's hot in your mouth and cool near your feet, at least comparatively. There are minimal, if any, health risks from licking dirty feet."
Interesting, John...I thought feet get "hot", but I guess compared to your mouth, they must not get *that* hot?
For "dirty feet" please read: sweaty, sock-skanky feet. Don't go licking and sucking the toes of someone who's been padding around barefoot in a sex club, or mucking out horse stalls without wearing boots. Go for funky, avoid filth."
"sweaty, sock-skanky feet"...*sigh*...that just warms me right down to my own toes :-)
Yes I would love those kind of "smelly dirty feet", and I am not interested in *filthy* feet, but what about the middle-ground, of just walking around your house barefoot? Where's the judgment there?
I'm feeling better about the fungal stuff, now it's the "hep" that guy brought up that has me wondering, hmmm...

Well, there's this I found linked from the home page of a "dom female feet" site (sorry if I made any guys gag just then, lol), but it's a bit scary...I mean, who likes the word "fatal"? But they don't even say what that could be! Grrrrrr:
===============================================
If you like to lick feet or footwear, YOU MUST READ this article!!
If you lick clean and disease free feet there should be no health hazard. if you know differently, please advise us. If you lick dirty feet you are at risk of ingesting parasitic and fungal organism that can do great damage to your health and even cause fatal complications. Among the most common
Ringworm (Tinea) is a contagious fungus infection that can affect the scalp, the body (particularly the groin), the feet (athlete's foot), and the nails. Ringworm has nothing to do with worms, the name is derived from the characteristic red ring that appears on an infected person's skin
Athletes Foot is caused by a fungal infection. The fungus lives on the skin and breeds under warm, moist conditions. Athlete's foot is more common during hot weather and sweaty footwear is usually the culprit
Parasites - There are two major types of parasites that infect the human body, large worm-like parasites and microscopic parasites. About 30% of all parasites are visible to the human eye, the other 70% are microscopic and are invisible to the human eye...
Excessive and compulsive foot licking,or chewing and biting other parts of the body, if it is not psychological., may be a a sign that allergies or some nutrient deficiency is present
Understanding why dogs like to lick human feet, could explain some of these desires. See Dogs Who Love to Lick Human Feet.

And "parasites"? Eck...
Wait wait, I understand "kissin' ", but "huggin' "?? I think you just threw that in there for the rhthym of the wording? (one would hope, lol)
Thanks John for the info on your sources, and again for adding more here.
