O.k. I post a picture request under the 'Picture Post' thread. Then it gets moved to the 'General Discussion' thread which is defined as "This is for General Discussions - please DO NOT post pics here! Pictures are to be posted on the Picture Board Only!"

So I'm guessing that we are not allowed to make photo requests at all on Footbuddies since they, seemingly, don't belong anywhere.

Clarification on this would be appreciated. Thanks.

Yes, we are allowed to make pic requests. When I have something of that nature, or a vidclip, or an alert to share, I post it in the Main Board (General Discussions). We have a very astute group of members here, so any post in the Main Board is usually seen by most everyone, if not everybody. I've kept my posting of pics exclusively for the Picture Board. And we now have enough regular threads that will meet the qualifications of almost any nature of pic (Celebs, Models, Porn stars, regular guys, soap stars, even "Black Dudes" - I even think there is an Athlete and a Musician thread somewhere in the archive that's never been stickied because there wasn't activity to justify it - those pics usually find their way in the "Different Celebs" thread).

If you find your non-pic posts being moved, it's just a matter of organization. The webby is great at cleaning house regularly and tries to stay true to the menu structure. It just keeps things more organized.

It's easy--

Requests go in General Discussion

Pictures go in Picture Posts

When a request from General Discussion is fulfilled it is moved from General Discussion to Picture Posts.

Simple, and trust me, it's been pretty dang effective too.

Tenchichan is correct. As moderator, I do this for these reasons:

It's my observation that the majority of readers come solely (pun intended) for the photos. What a disappointment to click on a interesting looking topic "X's hot soles", only to find out it's just a request for a photo, and not the photo, itself. Therefore, only threads that contain photos appear in the Photo Post section.

For housekeeping purposes, all photo requests are moved to the Main Board section until such time as someone uploads the requested photo(s). Then, the entire topic is moved back to the Photo Post section. Awkward, yes, but I've been doing it for the last five years, and it seems to keep things tidy.

I do not at this time have the ability to add new sections to the message board, else I would add a "photo request" section. All requests and their photo responses would then go there. If I am ever promoted to administrator, I would revise the current layout of the board to line up with the traffic I see come through here.

Thanks for the explanation!
